I'm listening to ChelyWright's new album, Lifted Off the Ground - remarkable.
Like eating potato chips - can't eat just one. Thought I would listen to a song or two and some tomorrow - no way, couldn't stop...
I listened to the whole album.
It is exceptional. Soft in spots, strong in spots, lots of emotional energy.
It is not a cookie cutter album where you hear one song and the others are the same. It is not a formula album where the songs follow a pattern for retail purposes. It is highly individualistic, and full of creative energy from within. It is a series of love letters to a beloved who has left and all that loss has to come out. You can hear sadness, anger, love, and new found strength to carry on.
Been there, done that. One day you wake up and are better for the experience. I think I have a poem for this Love and Loss of Love. I will look for it.
Here it is:
Stephen Crane War is Kind - Last Verse...
I have seen thy face aflame For love of me, Thy fair arms go mad, Thy lips tremble and mutter and rave. And--surely-- This should leave a woman content? Thou lovest not me now, But thou didst love me, And in loving me once Thou gavest me an eternal privilege, For I can think of thee.
